Blå Station

Blå Station is a family business established in 1986, located in what used to be a sewing factory in Åhus, on the southeast coast of Sweden.

During the company’s foundation you would find furniture prototypes in one corner of the building and art exhibits and jazz concerts in the adjacent rooms. The place became known as the “Station”. But where does Blå come from?

Blå Station’s founder, furniture designer Börge Lindau, used the signature BLÅ on drawings – the B and the L being the initials of his first and last name and the Å representing Åhus where he had settled.

Today Blå Station is run by Johan, Mimi and Malin Lindau - The Blå Station family. The company has firmly established itself as creative innovators, who introduce fun and humour into our interiors. The BOB Sofa has become a global success, alongside the Sting chair which can be found in places from Swiss schools to the New York Ballet. This vast and diverse collection of furniture deserves a deep dive.

“To meet today´s demands and desires, we believe it is necessary to have an open and innovative mind, a child´s curiosity as well as a heart that rejects shortcuts and apathy.”
