Arco at Design Post: IMM 2024

In a bright and well designed showroom space at Cologne’s Design Post, Arco presented a number of new designs and refreshed product options in January 2024.

Homework by Jonathan Prestwich for Arco

The beautiful, comfortable and sustainable Homework chair was on display in a number of wood stain and upholstery finishes. In today’s world, where the lines between work and home life are blurred, Jonathan Prestwich designed a comfortable dining chair for the home with a twist. The chair can also be specified with castors, to add some of the movement and flexibility that we expect from an office chair, whilst still blending in with a sophisticated and warm dining setting.

Instead of using foam, Homework uses a blend of natural latex, wool and horse hair. In addition, both the seat and backrest upholstery is removable. Combine these features with the PEFC European wood and you have a sophisticated, comfortable and clever sustainable chair, for home - and for work.

Close chair and Essential Table by Gudmundur Ludvik for Arco

The hugely successful Close chair collection has grown, with a new addition to the family with four metal legs, which are available in a wide range of powder-coated finishes. We also saw the Essential table in the newly launched linoleum top finish, offering a new dimension for Arco in addition to the beautiful wood finishes that the company is renowned for.

The Slim table collection - which celebrates its 20th birthday in 2024 was also shown with linoleum tops, beautifully colour-coordinated with stained veneer legs (below).

Sabine Marcelis expanded her successful DEW table collection in 2024 for Arco, adding a collection of Dew coffee tables (below). The abstract design language of the Dew coffee tables reflects that of the dining and meeting versions and brings Arco from the dining room into the lounge.
